Blast IM

Paltalk allows you to easily keep track of which of your pals are online.  It uses the concept of a buddy list or 'pal list'.

You add people to your 'pal list' once, and from that point on you can be automatically notified whenever they come online or go offline.

You can quickly wind up with a huge list of pals that are difficult to manage.   Buddy groups let you place your pals into categories like friends, family, etc...

A 'blast IM' will send a message to everyone in a selected 'buddy group'.

Messaging the entire category of pals with a 'blast IM'
Blast IM is a great way to send messages to everyone about your special events or group activities.  This is also a much desired feature because you can send messages about changing meeting times, or even invite your participants to a room at a time of your choosing.

To send a message to all pals within a particular category...

Step 1
select the main pal list window

Step 2
right click on a category name

Step 3
select 'send IMs to this buddy group'

a window appears that lists all of the online pals you have in that category.

Step 4
place a checkmark next to the names in the list that you wish to send the message to

if you wish you can also list offline pals by placing a checkmark in the 'send to offline buddies' checkbox - when you do this all pals will be listed regardless of their online status

Step 5
enter your message into the text entry box on the bottom of the window

Step 6
press the 'send' button on the bottom right of the window
if you change your mind press the 'cancel' button to close the window
